Driving Through Lamar Valley - Yellowstone National Park

Lamar Valley is located in the Northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park. Known for its abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities, Lamar Valley is a large, open expanse surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. You can spot grizzly bear, bison, pronghorn, wolves, and many other types of wildlife. With the Lamar River flowing through it, Lamar Valley has been called "America’s Serengeti", for its large and easy-to-see populations of large animals. Lamar Valley and Beartooth Highway, are easily accessible from each other, and both areas can be seen in the same day.
