Town Square Quilt Block Tutorial - Part 1 of 3

Hello Shiny Crafty People and welcome back! A few months ago I teased some batik squares and some black fabric and some white fabric I had bought to make a new quilt. Well, this is it! I've settled on the Town Square block, which is WAYYY easier than it looks. You're gonna be surprised at how fast the quilt comes together, especially since you end up with what are basically 18" blocks and you only need 12 of those to make a good-sized lap quilt. I've decided this will be my own personal quilt, so I'm sizing it for the couch so I can curl up with it when I'm watching TV and Brad has decided to put the thermostat down into arctic territory! You basically need 1 yard of your dark fabric, 1 yard of the light fabric (these are for the checkerboard) and 1 yard of your feature fabric(s). Since I used batiks, I chose a dozen 10" squares of different batik colors, but you can use all one fabric or choose a bunch.
