Evolution Rage 3 S 210 Mitre saw repair. Armature issues!

I've owned an Evolution Rage 3S compound mitre chop saw for years. The saw has been faultless until a few days ago when I could hear the noise when the motor was running that tells you it's time to replace the brushes. I went ahead and swapped out the brushes this but immediately noticed a lot of sparking when the saw was being run, although it did seem to cut ok. This sparking problem in my experience indicates issues usually with the motor armature. So there was only one thing to do and that was to pull the armature out and show it the lathe.
