Hike Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail To Lakes Of The Clouds Hut, Then To Mount Monroe. White Mountains, NH.

We did a day hike in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Started from the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trailhead on Base Rd. The first 2.1miles weren't too bad leading up. But on the return hike it seemed very long. But, the last mile going up to the Lakes of the Clouds hut was a smoker on the legs. Once you're there, it's surely worth the effort. Continued on to Mount Monroe, which was .3 miles. Beautiful views for 360 degrees. It was very cool seeing the lake. A very awesome spot as a destination. Going up and then back down in the same day is challenging. You can always stay at the hut for the night. Drinking water, food, toilets, and lodging is offered. Tough on the body coming down. It's worth the effort. 6.8 miles round trip.
