Biren Singh, visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) on Thursday to pay his condolences to the families of the six Naga men who were killed after being taken hostage. During his visit, Biren Singh appreciated the gesture of the United Naga Council and the Naga community for facilitating the safe release of 14 Kuki hostages. However, he strongly condemned the killing of the six Naga men and expressed grief over the tragic incident. The former Chief Minister urged the authorities to take appropriate action at the earliest and ensure that those responsible for the killing of the six innocent Naga men are identified and punished in accordance with the law. Biren Singh also voiced hope that the appointment of the new Director General of Police (DGP) and the deployment of additional central security forces would help restore law and order in the state.
