Отец покрывал дочь, которая делала операции, говорив по сотовому, и лишила пациентов зрения и денег
New twists have emerged in the Nizhny Novgorod "doctors' case"—the arrest of the father and daughter who ran Hospital No. 33. Enormous sums of cash, unlikely to have been earned honestly, have been discovered in the chief physician's country house, and people who are his daughter's victims are contacting our editorial office one after another. Pavel Zubeyev has headed Hospital No. 33 for 20 years and was considered one of the city's most prominent figures—an honorary citizen of Nizhny Novgorod and a three-time winner of the Nizhny Novgorod Prize in Medicine. He appointed his daughter, Tatyana Sokolova, to head the ophthalmology department at his hospital, while she simultaneously opened her own private medical center. The investigation hasn't yet announced all the charges, but preliminary information suggests illegal salary payments at a state hospital and the referral of patients from a state institution to his private clinic. Pavel Zubeyev was arrested as a particularly dangerous criminal: they stormed the premises, broke down the door, used masked men, and so on. About 5 million rubles, including foreign currency, were found in his home. According to police, searches continued today: after a search of his country house, another 50 million rubles in cash were found, also in rubles and foreign currency. Pavel Zubeyev could not be taken into custody due to his deteriorating health and a suspected heart attack. He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent stent surgery today. His daughter, Tatyana Sokolova, was sent to pretrial detention yesterday for two months. She asked the court not to do so, calling herself the best surgeon in the city. We broadcast these words yesterday, and after that, it all began: people are contacting the editorial office who fundamentally disagree with this and believe it's because of her that they lost both their sight and their money.
