I’m Temica, and I’m growing a small-space garden on my townhome deck—learning in real time, one baby step at a time. 🌿 In today’s video, I stepped outside the garden (just a little 👀) to learn something that completely changed how I think about what we grow… 🍵 Garden to Tea?! I visited a local tea house and sat down with the owner to talk about how she creates custom tea blends using herbs, flowers, and even root vegetables grown in our gardens 🌿 We talked about: ✨ Using beets, carrots, and sweet potatoes in tea ✨ How to build a tea blend using: Base notes (tea leaves) Mid notes (fruits, herbs, flowers, spices) Top notes (aroma like mint, citrus, coconut) ✨ A beginner-friendly tea blend you can make at home, right now! Because your garden can be used for SO much more than we think… 🌿 Back to the deck garden: After the interview, I headed home and got right back into garden life: 🌧️ Got caught in the rain while doing upkeep 🐛 Shared my hack for protecting my lemon cucumber from bugs ✂️ Pruned my cucumber plants 🌱 Gave my white wonder cucumber more support 😅 And discovered one of my “bush beans” is actually a pole bean… so I had to quickly build a trellis system!
