Common Converters on Most RV's and Issues

As an RV technician I try to make How-To videos to help you understand how you can fix things in your RV yourself so you can save time and money and do it yourself if you have the means. Sometimes RVers are in remote areas and can't get a tech out right away, so I hope these videos can help you out with your RV. In this video I want to explain easy way to detect if your converter has failed, how to actually diagnose it, and how to swap this type of converter. To test the converter you need shore power of generator to provide 110 volts, but you must be SUPER careful as you will be testing the high voltage side. If you go by the symptoms, loss of power until battery is drained, and don't need to test the converter, you can cut shore power or generator to not have the 110 volt side hot, and replace the unit easy.
