CHABINGA Advises Mafinga Farmers

By Honester Mshoka UPND Mafinga South Parliamentary Candidate ROBERT CHABINGA has advised farmers in Mafinga District not to sell all their maize to the Food Reserve Agency -FRA, but to reserve enough for household consumption. Mr. CHABINGA says the advice follows concerns that the country could experience El Niño conditions, which may affect agricultural production and food availability. Speaking during a meeting with community members in Vumbo Ward, Mr. CHABINGA said farmers will also be supported through cooperatives with agricultural equipment aimed at increasing productivity and improving livelihoods. He said the initiative is intended to strengthen agricultural production and enable farmers to contribute to the country's food security. Meanwhile, small-scale farmers in the district have welcomed the advice and encouraged fellow farmers to strike a balance between commercial maize sales and maintaining adequate food supplies for their households.
