Zoo Tours: Tiger River at the San Diego Zoo

We're picking up where we left off, meaning you're in for another round of wondering where on Earth you could be inside the Lost Forest. The Monkey Trails and Forest Tales, the forest's newest addition, winds into its oldest - the Tiger River. The Zoo’s second successful attempt of creating a natural bioclimatic zone exhibit. The Tiger River or the Kroc Family Tropical Rain Forest, opened in 1988, representing life from southeast Asia. Crocodiles, Fishing Cats, Malayan Tapirs, of course Tigers and the behemoth of a crustacean, the Coconut Crab. On top of that, the winding, sloping canyon supports over 5,000 Asian plant species to enhance the immersion and make this river feel like the real thing. Species List as of November 2022: 1.
