Jorge Barón Televisión is a Colombian television production company and former programmer founded on May 24, 1969, by businessman, journalist, and presenter Jorge Barón. After the arrival of the private channels Caracol and RCN in 1998, its participation has been reduced, and its most notable program is El Show de las Estrellas. This programming station went off the air on Sunday, April 30, 2017, along with Colombiana de Televisión S.A., after 48 years on public television. It will now focus on producing content for national private channels. Inravisión management complied with Jorge Barón Televisión's directive to create a half-hour music program to replace the documentaries. On May 24, 1969, El show de Jorge Barón y su estrella invitada was launched. Its first guests were a comedy-musical duo, Emeterio and Felipe, known as "Los Tolimenses." At that time, the musical was born, along with the programming channel, which is now known as El show de las estrellas (The Stars Show), and later as Embajadores de la música Colombiana (Ambassadors of Colombian Music), along with other programs from the same programming channel. Jorge Barón Televisión also has two stations: the traditional Emisora Punto 5, on 1490 AM in Bogotá, which still remains after a rumored change of frequency ownership, but ultimately failed to materialize; and Entusiasmo Stereo, on 99.5 FM in Mariquita, in northern Tolima, which was sold in late April 2017 to Inversiones Tobón Camelo S.A. to establish Toca Stereo. On April 30, 2017, after 48 years on the air, the programming station closed its doors as it did not participate in the new Canal Uno bidding process, which began on May 1, 2017, and ended on April 30, 2027. This was its last broadcast on Canal Uno, and on Monday, May 1 (coinciding with Labor Day) due to the 2016 bidding process, Canal Uno premiered its new programming with a new programming station called Plural Comunicaciones. Jorge Barón Televisión ended its broadcasts after being the programmer for 48 years on air on Colombian television and its spaces were handed over to ANTV; Despite this, its flagship program, El Show de las Estrellas, has been broadcast on RCN Televisión since May 6, 2017. Tevecine Productions was one of the most prominent programming companies in the history of Colombian television. It was founded in 1985 by a group of businessmen, including playwrights Carlos José Reyes and Jorge Alí Triana (who previously worked on the series Revivamos Nuestra Historia, produced by Promec Televisión for Producciones Eduardo Lemaitre). The company's legal representative was Jorge Ospina Cantor (who also founded other similar programming companies, such as Caracol Televisión, Colombiana de Televisión, and Coestrellas, respectively). Initially, Tevecine Productions was a limited company, and in 1989, it was transformed from a limited company to a public limited company. Initially, the company reflected the social reality of its productions and also had the infrastructure to house its recording equipment for the company's various programs. A new venture was made in the late 1980s and early 1990s. 90 to produce comedies, dramas, and journalistic programs. In the 1987 bidding process, they were directly awarded six hours of programming, including Mondays at 6:30 p.m. on Cadena Uno. The educational news program "Yo se Quien Sabe lo que Usted no Sabe" with Alfonso Castellanos (previously broadcast on Intervisión in 1979 and later on Universal Televisión-Uni TV) aired. They also aired other programs such as the Foreign comedy program "Mork y Mindy," "Telerumba" with César Ramírez, "El Club de los Bulliciosos" (which later aired on Tuesdays and was finally relocated to Saturdays. Furthermore, on one occasion, this children's program was transferred to the "Coestrellas" time slot on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. on Cadena Uno), "Teenagers," and "Super Vídeos" in partnership with Prego Televisión, the programming company that owned the previous half-hour of the program.
