✅ Subscribe: / @reasredderedes Co-production of Public Policies for a Just Energy Transition This training focuses on how public administrations can collaborate with the Social and Solidarity Economy to promote a more democratic, sustainable, and locally based energy model. Tools for fostering public-community collaboration and strengthening political and technical advocacy capacities in the development of local energy policies will be covered. This is the second session of the Coopublic project's training cycle, organized by REAS Red de Redes, dedicated to strategic sectors for public-community action. Following the first session on housing, this one focuses on energy: "Co-production of Public Policies for a Just Energy Transition." The training addresses how public administrations can collaborate with the social and solidarity economy to promote a more democratic, sustainable, and locally rooted energy model, with a focus on energy communities and the tools for creating and managing them through public initiatives. The speaker will discuss the context of the energy transition and the paradigm shift from fossil fuels to renewables; the European and national regulatory framework (the two directives on renewable energy communities and citizen energy communities, included in the Electricity Sector Law); shared self-consumption as a tool; the motivations and conditions for creating a community; the role of the local authority as a facilitator and potential partner; and the new developments of the recent Royal Decree that extends the radius of shared self-consumption to 5 km and incorporates municipal powers regarding energy communities. The presentation will conclude with a question and answer session with the audience. Speaker: Alfonso García Márquez —PIZTU Cooperative and worker-member of the Goiener cooperative (internal processes team; has served as secretary and member of various bodies). More than 35 years of experience in cooperatives. A driving force behind numerous cooperatives and energy communities since the inception of the Unión Renovables network.
