Wild Camping the East Highland Way - Part Two - Balgowan to Aviemore
Part Two of my East Highland Way trek. I did this 82 mile trek solo, wild camping (apart from one night) and carrying everything I needed over six days. From my B&B in Balgowan I walk through forests, moorland and tackle numerous river crossings. On the way I see wild horses and deer. The weather changed from sun to rain, to snow and sleet, with temperatures down to -5 C at night. I visit Dalnashallag bothy, wild camp at the edge of Loch Gynach, stay overnight in Drake's Bothy in Inshriach Forest, and see the castle in Loch an Eilein. An awesome route, peaceful and remote.
