High-Speed Hydrofoil | Aegean Flying Dolphins Patmos to Samos (Greece)

The Aegean Flying Dolphins high-speed "FD Erato" hydrofoil sea vessel was built in 1991. The 162 ton (gross), 34.5 m long and 5.8 m wide hydrofoil vessel can attain a maximum speed of 31 knots. The Piraeus based shipping company operates two high-speed hydrofoil vessels serving destinations in the Saronic and the Sporades islands of Greece. "FD Erato" presently (2019) operates in the Sporades islands with daily departures from Alonissos, Skopelos and Skiathos to the mainland Greek port city of Volos.
