The first iteration of this 3rd movie was rumored to be titled Indiana Jones and the Castle of Blood, written by Diane Thomas(Romancing the Stone). Unfortunately, Spielberg’s hesitancy to re-engage with the horror genre after Poltergeist and Thomas’ untimely passing in 1985 caused the movie to be shelved.
