On this trip, we take the InterCity control car from Jena Göschwitz to the Weimar cultural station. Due to a diversion, we first travel on the Saalbahn between Jena and Großheringen, where we can admire the beautiful Saale valley with its numerous castles and palaces. In the Großheringen triangular junction, we then continue on to the Thuringian railway, via which we will reach the cities of Apolda and Weimar. During the trip, the smooth driving behavior of the control car is particularly impressive compared to that of a locomotive.
