Tesla Model Y Juniper tested with real babies & prams

This week we're testing the updated fully electric 2025 Tesla Model Y "Juniper" rear wheel drive to see how it stacks up for families. Good news is, I managed to fit three child seats across the back row (two forward-facing and one rear-facing) with plenty of legroom for a 180cm driver in front of a rear-facing infant capsule or baby seat. The boot holds 15 shopping bags when empty, and I've tested multiple Thule pram configurations to show you exactly what fits. The Urban Glide 3 double pram fits easily with the back wheels on, whilst the Spring lightweight stroller leaves room for 11 shopping bags. There's also clever under-boot storage and a front trunk big enough for another four shopping bags. Inside the updated Model Y are minimal, wipeable surfaces throughout, the enormous central console storage swallows iPads and handbags and whilst rear passengers get a new touchscreen for climate controls and entertainment features plus, USB-C charging, and overhead lighting for easier night-time harness buckling. The giant media screen controls everything, including child locks, though I do miss Apple CarPlay and it's fiddly having to open the glove box or adjust the mirrors using the screen. Battery range is 466km for the rear-wheel drive or 600km for the long-range all-wheel drive, both plenty for school runs and the odd weekend adventure.
