An Day of Hope in the Valley (9th April 2016)
This trip takes me down the Buxton line to Hazel Grove and then onto the Hope Valley Line to Sheffield, we start the morning with DB Cargo class 66, 66077 on Peak Forest to Bletchley and the board the 0643 to Crewe worked by London Midland class 350, 350122 to Stafford where I changed onto 1H13 0701 to Manchester Piccadilly worked by CrossCountry Trains Class 220, 220006 but too this service to Stockport. At Stockport caught the 0759 to Buxton worked by Northern Class 150s, 15140 and 150146 but left Stockport at 0802 and arrive at the first station of the day Davenport, filming Northern, East Midlands Trains and First TransPennine Express but only the Buxton and the Hazel Grove services stop here, also one of the reason filming here, the Sheffield to Manchester Piccadilly services are diverted, but don't stop here. After an hour at this station, I move a few yards down the line at Woodsmoor and filmed the same that I got at Davenport, after Woodsmoor I traveled to Hazel Grove to get the other reason why I was filming on the Hope Valley, East Midlands Trains Class 222, 222003 Tornado working strengthening services between Nottingham and Liverpool Lime Street due to the Grand National at Aintree. After Hazel Grove I left the Buxton Line on a pacer and all services from this point I was riding on Manchester to Sheffield services and headed to Chinley. With some stunning views for photography, but you don't get the Buxton services, only get hourly Sheffield to Manchester: Northern and First TransPennine Express and East Midland Trains services speeding through, there was also top and tail class 66s working from Peak Forest to Hope Street, next station on the line is Edale with the same amount of traffic passed through but one of the Liverpool to Norwich East Midlands Trains services was withdrawn for a Liverpool Lime Street to Nottingham service which was East Midlands Trains Class 222, 222003 Tornado passing through. After Edale I took the train to Hope and filmed at this station for an hour but the same types of DMUs passed with an light engine Class 66, 66001 working Peak Forest to Toton. After Hope I went to Bamford to film more trains passing through. After Bamford I travelled to Hathersage and carried on filming but the rain started to pour down which was expected. Then took another Class 132 pacer to Grindleford which it still carried on raining but didn't stop me filming, also on arrival into Grindleford, I missed out on the Class 222 going back to Liverpool Lime Street. After Grindleford I bypassed Dore and Totley and went to Sheffield for an site to eat and went to Sheffield to get a bit to eat and then jump on a East Midlands Trains Class 222, 222001 1929 to Chesterfield. At Chesterfield, I got off and waited for the 2007 CrossCountry service to Bristol Temple Meads which was running about 5 minutes late and worked by a Class 221, 221133 but getting off at Birmingham New Street. to change onto the 2117 to Rugeley Trent Valley worked by 170507 and once I got back to Rugeley Town I went home to end the show, filmed 9th April 2016
