Como se desenvolve o REFLUXO? Pode virar CÂNCER! │ (DRGE)

In this video, I'll talk about gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as GERD. This is a condition in which stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing symptoms such as heartburn, regurgitation, cough, hoarseness, and a burning sensation in the chest. GERD occurs when the muscle that separates the esophagus from the stomach, called the lower esophageal sphincter, doesn't function properly. This allows stomach acid to flow back into the esophagus and irritates the esophageal lining, causing the symptoms. Some of the causes of GERD include being overweight, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and eating fatty foods. Treatment for GERD may involve lifestyle changes such as losing weight, avoiding irritating foods, and quitting smoking, as well as medications to reduce stomach acid production. It's important to see a doctor if you have symptoms of GERD, as this condition can cause serious complications such as esophagitis, ulcers, and even esophageal cancer in rare cases. I hope this video was informative and helpful in understanding gastroesophageal reflux disease better. Did you like the video?
