Griggs Farms End of Corn Harvest and Disaster Strikes

Watch as we finish up 2020 corn harvest on September 22, 2020 on Griggs Farms in Humboldt, TN and then suffer a devastating accident in which I was ejected through the windshield of my Case IH 7120 combine at 20 mph while transporting equipment home. See the aftermath of the wreckage along with a testament of our faith, what protected me and an important lesson on paying attention to farm safety. This accident happened during Farm Safety Week for a reason, and that is to impress how important it is to pay attention to all the details when it comes to safety. It also features a dramatic reenactment by Kelly Griggs and Zach Wilson! Not as good of re-enactments as “Unsolved Mysteries” but pretty good for a couple of farmers! **Update: Insurance wound up totaling the combine because the cost to repair was getting close to the value of the combine and they weren't sure what else would be found to repair when repairs started. Insurance didn't want to weld the part on the frame for liability reasons. I wound up taking the insurance payment and then having it fixed myself for about 70% of the original estimate. Hopefully the combine will be good as new in about a month** Looks like the demo of the GTS cornhead is more important now that I am in the market for a new cornhead!
