Best Festivals in Bhutan | Bhutan Festival Series | Compilation of the Festivals in Bhutan
Today, we are sharing our Bhutan tourism and festival series, taking you on a journey to Bhutan. The country of Bhutan is famous for beautiful monasteries and breathtaking landscapes. It's a Buddhist country on the eastern edge of the Himalayas and serves as a popular trekking destination. The Druk Wangyel Festival at Dochula happens annually on the 13th of December. Though less than a decade old, the new choreography and costumes make this festival the most unique event in Bhutan. Paro Tshechu is one of the most famous festivals in Bhutan which is held for 5 days beginning on the 10the day of the 2nd Bhutanese lunar month and ends on the 15th day. On the last day of the celebration, a gigantic Thangkha (Thongdrel) of Guru Rinpoche will be displayed inside the Dzong. The “Royal Highlander Festival” is being organized at Laya, Gasa District to sensitize the highlanders on the decline of yak farming with increased vulnerability from instantly short-term income-generating activities that seem to be challenging the sustainability of livelihoods in the future in the highlands. The festival is also aimed to enlighten stakeholders on the importance of their spirited participation in enhancing the economic opportunity of the highlanders. Punakha Tshechu, as all Tshechu festivals, honors Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rimpoche, the precious yogi and saint who is credited with having introduced Tantric Buddhism throughout the Himalayas. It is 3 days long festival that begins on the 10th day of the 1st month of the Buddhist lunar calendar. The best time for Bhutan travel and tourism is October to December when the air and sky are most fresh and clear. Bhutan is a bit cooler in January and February, but the climate is ideal through late spring. Bhutan is considered by many to be an excellent value for travel and tourism. For many years, the culture was isolated from the rest of the world, but now, many travelers find that Bhutan is great to travel destination. In the past, Bhutan was one of the poorest countries in Asia, but now it has one of the world's fastest-growing economies. Bhutan is very safe, and the crime rate is very low. Both petty crime and violent crime are very rare and uncommon. Tourists who want to visit Bhutan are required to have a visa and must book their holiday through a Bhutanese tour operator. We would be happy to help you plan your next holiday to Bhutan!
