While he’s been locally recognized as the two-time 'Songwriter of the Year' by the Portland Songwriters Association and 'Best Male Artist' at the Portland Music Awards, on the national stage, Stenson has received even more impressive praise from the top tier of the music industry. Recently hand-picked by legendary producer Don Was, Stenson was named a Top 10 Finalist in Guitar Center’s Songwriter search (out of 10,000), as well as, hand-selected by Adam Duritz of Counting Crows and music critic Ryan Spaulding, to perform at their Outlaw Roadshow showcase at SxSW. Stenson has opened for LeAnn Rimes, Chris Isaak, John Popper, Marc Cohn, Matisyahu and more and his music has been heard on SiriusXM’s “The Coffee House” station, multiple Chevrolet commercials and several popular television series.
