We are moving through chapter 13 as we have through the entire book of 1 Corinthians, and we are going to be exposed to very basic and very important areas of truth as we discuss the subject of love. I don’t think you would find any argument against the fact that the most important thing in the world, the summum bonum of life, is love. In 13:13 it says, ‘The greatest of these is love.’ In 1 Peter chapter 4 it says, ‘Above all, have love.’ And when the Bible wants to define God, when God wants to define Himself, He says of Himself, God What is it? Love. Love is the clearest definition. Love is the personification of God's nature. In Romans chapter 13 it says, “Love is the fulfillment of the whole law.” Love is the high point of everything; love is the number one ingredient in life, in terms of aligning life with God's nature…
