57s, A Pacer and plenty of 80xs at Carlisle 13 April 2026

A great day at Carlisle and on the northern Settle Carlisle line. Day 3 of the major blockade north of Gretna Junction and between Preston and Lancaster resulting in Avanti Class 805s on shuttles from Preston to Carlisle over the Settle Carlisle line and TransPennine Express running trains between Carlisle and Lancaster on the West Coast Main Line. In addition we see GBRf Class 57s preparing the train for the UK Railtours Manxman charter and heading off to pick up passengers at Morecambe. We also see a real surprise route learner using a Pacer Class 142! A few other freights beside, both at Carlisle Citadel Station and at Duncow Fold bridge, south of Howe & Co's Siding signal box on the S&C.
