Songclave (from Hollow Knight: Silksong) // Harp Duet

Ringing out the bells for all the pilgrims in Pharloom with my first proper duet in this series! I'm trying to make as many tracks from Silksong into harp solos as I can, but there are quite a few that have enough complexity that I think they deserve a second part. The arpeggios in Songclave are so pivotal but most of the harmony, and the countermelody presented in the oboe all intersect with the same register the arpeggios are set in, making it impossible to add this extra detail into a solo arrangement. The thing that really makes the atmosphere of Songclave for me is the way the chords and bassline emerge so gradually and give this tune such amazing depth by the time you reach the climax, the end of the crescendo before the music returns to the opening chord. So I really wanted to lean on the concert harp's amazing bass to bring this alive in a second part. Naturally, I also wanted to add harmonics, a classic way to emulate bells and get a bit more ethereal energy into this arrangement to emulate the sound of the choir. Songclave is another amazing example of Christopher Larkin's ability to portray both the hope of surviving pilgrims, and the deep sadness of those lost to the haunting in Pharloom. I think this music really tells that story beautifully. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ► Patreon   / amyturkharp   ► Merch https://amyturkharp.teemill.com/ ► Sheet Music Originals and classical: https://www.amyturkharp.com/store Pop, rock & VGM: https://www.musicnotes.com/sheet-musi...
