Sunday Service: June 21, 2026: “Who Are You”

Sunday Service: June 21, 2026: “Who Are You” We looked at the reality that human beings are multidimensional creatures. The difference between Humans and animals is that God made human beings “in our own image and likeness“ Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well that “God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).”John 4:24 AMPC Like God, human beings are first and foremost Spirit beings. Animals have a soul and a body. But, it is the spirit that is the difference. That is the reason that they can be used by other disembodied spirits. One of the reasons why the Legion requested they be sent into the Pigs in the case of the Gadarene demoniac Mark 5:1-20. Paul prays a specific prayer for the Thessalonians as he signs off in the first epistle. Elsewhere Paul refers to His spirit as being the “real man”, “the hidden man of the heart”, “the heart of man”, and in I Corinthians 14 he refers to his spirit as “I” I Thessalonians 5:23 Spirit, and Soul and BodySpirit - pneuma (πνεῦμα) - That part of the human being that interacts with the spirit world Soul - made up of the Mind, The Will, and The Emotions - Psuché (ψυχή) - That part of the human that interacts with The Intellectual world (Mind), makes the decisions (Will), That part that deals with and exhibits the feelings and responds in an attempt to override the Will (Emotions) Body - soma (σῶμα) - That part of the Human being that interacts with the physical world through the 5 sense gates - Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, and Touch. When a person is “Born Again” it is their spirit that is brand new. They have not just been revived, but their old dead spirit is totally replaced with a “brand new creature.” II Corinthians 5:17 We don’t get a new body, or soul. If new Christians are not given a proper introduction to the New Birth, they can become disillusioned very quickly, in many cases before they even get out of the door. The Body still has the same desires and appetites as it previously had. Likewise their soul, the mind, the will, and the emotions haven’t been replaced. Which is why new believers need to be warned that because of their new commitment they will receive a counterattack. The enemy doesn’t like it when one of his subjects is brought into the light. The fact remains that as Paul writes in Romans 12:2 that our part of bringing our whole life into the light is through “The renewing of the mind”; to replace our old way of thinking, and thereby acting, by replacing the thoughts that are not of God, with meditation upon the truth of what God has said about us. Too often new believers who are neither followed up, or given proper instruction of where and what to look for, in their bibles, are seen once, and never seen again, because they did something that someone else told them was sinful and they crumbled into the despair of failure. What has not been properly taught is that yes the bible calls those who are not Christians “sinners”. But once we have accepted Christ’s invitation, then our nature is no longer that of a sinner. Instead we are called “The righteousness of God In Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:24-25. But, that transformation is not something we have achieved through any effort. It is given Freely by the Grace of God: “Not of works so no person can boast about what They have done!” Ephesians 2:9 (paraphrased). This one point alone is the way a person will, or won’t develop in their prayer life, always considering themselves as unworthy to receive anything from God, because of thoughts that have passed through our heads contrary to what they know of “god’s rules.” Changing our minds to understand what God says about us will cause our prayer life to blossom, and our personal relationship with God to Bloom.
