Salió a trabajar y lo asesinaron: el crimen de Cappont
The Cappont murder in Lleida remains one of those cases that leaves a question hanging in the air for years. A young man leaves his house one ordinary morning. He is 26 years old. He has been married for just over a year. He has a baby barely four months old. And like every day, he goes down to the parking garage, gets into his car, and gets ready to go to work. But that morning, someone is waiting for him. A man dressed in black. Wearing a balaclava. Wearing a reflective vest to blend in with the workers at a nearby construction site. An ambush meticulously planned. Seven shots. Four hits. And a flight on foot that, almost twenty years later, remains unsolved. ⭐ IMPORTANT Así Matan is nominated for the Podcast Days 2026 Audience Award. On November 9, 2006, on Riu Ter Street in Lleida, Isaac Martínez left the communal garage of his building in his Volkswagen Touran. He had barely started to pull out when a man approached the vehicle. First, he fired from the back. Then he approached the driver's side. The scene lasted only a few seconds. Isaac died almost instantly. There was no robbery. No prior argument. No struggle. Just a swift, cold, and seemingly planned execution. The investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) soon focused on Isaac's family. Specifically, in a conflict involving his brother Raúl, Raúl's ex-partner Soraya Lara, and her new partner, Jordi Rueda. Jordi Rueda becomes the prime suspect. He is arrested and remanded in custody. But the forensic reports on the gunshot residue do not reach a unanimous conclusion. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police), the Guardia Civil (Spanish Civil Guard), and the National Police analyze the same evidence… but they don't arrive at exactly the same answer. And that difference changes everything. Years later, the case is reopened due to a new technical issue: the tin found in the primers of the cartridges used in the crime. A microscopic particle. A forensic doubt. One last chance before time runs out. In this video, we analyze the case with rigor and respect: ✔️ Who was Isaac Martínez? ✔️ What happened on the morning of November 9, 2006? ✔️ How the ambush in the parking lot unfolded? ✔️ What the witnesses saw? ✔️ Why the investigation focused on Jordi Rueda? ✔️ What role did Raúl, Soraya, and the family conflict play? ✔️ The reports on gunshot residue? ✔️ The contradictions between the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police), the Guardia Civil (Spanish Civil Guard), and the National Police? ✔️ The anonymous call about the weapon? ✔️ The Martínez family's struggle for almost twenty years? ✔️ The reopening of the case due to the tin lead? ✔️ The risk of the statute of limitations expiring? ✔️ What questions remain unanswered? A crime that didn't happen at night. Or in a secluded place. Or without witnesses. It happened in broad daylight. At the exit of a parking garage. On an ordinary street in Lleida. When someone was simply going to work. And perhaps that's why it's so unsettling. Because Isaac wasn't running from anyone. He wasn't involved in anything shady. He wasn't expecting a threat. He just left home. And someone was waiting for him in the parking garage.
