I took the night train from Shimonoseki to Kyoto on the WEST EXPRESS Ginga in the Green Car First Seat, which has only eight seats. The seats facing each other are unique in that each person can use them like a dining area when awake, and when sleeping, the chairs on either side can be folded down to create a soft bed. The seats can be separated by curtains, giving the feeling of relaxation as if you were in a private room, making the trip even more comfortable. I also enjoyed the sleeper train izakaya. The in-car announcements have been updated at certain points to make you feel like you are actually riding, so I hope you enjoy it. I enjoyed tasting the local sake that was on limited sale and savoring it at my seat on the train.
