This week we’re finding out for ourselves as we travel from Sosúa/Cabarete to Santo Domingo using Caribe Tours for the very first time! 🚌 We take you through the entire experience — from reserving tickets and paying in cash, to showing you the bus seats, onboard bathroom, and what it’s really like traveling across the country this way. But… things don’t exactly go according to plan 😅 Our original bus gets cancelled and we end up on a much slower route than expected. Because so many people continue to ask us about safety in the Dominican Republic, this video also focuses on staying safe while traveling around the country, what to look out for, and tips based on our own experiences living here. Once we finally arrive in Santo Domingo, we explore parts of the Malecón area during the day, visit the colorful Santo Domingo Obelisk and Parque Eugenio María de Hostos, and stop for lunch at Jade Teriyaki — a popular Dominican Asian food chain that surprised us! 🍜 Later, we check into the Sheraton Santo Domingo and give you a full hotel tour including the pool, lobby, and our room. The hotel has an amazing location on the Malecón, though some parts definitely feel a little outdated.
