Why Hakeem Olajuwon is better than Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Hakeem Olajuwon is the best Center in NBA History. To me he ranks higher than Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Shaq etc. He had a unique Skillset and was the perfect Center. In this Video we will take a look why he is better than Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Is the Dream shake better than the skyhook? You will find out in the video. Now we already talked about the sky hook and the dream shake. But who of the two had the better overall skillset? Lets take a look at kareem first. As we know his major move was the sky hook, but he also had a turn around jumper and a soft baby hook. So he was not a one dimentinal player. and we cant forget that he also ran the break with magic johnson and would often receive a nice dish by magic to finish the break with a dunk. And Hakeem. well hakeem was like a swiss army knife. he had 100s of weapens. if it was a turnaround jumper, fade away jumper, a shimy here, a shimy there, olajuwons arsenal was countless. he could also face you up and attack you head on. so this category has to go to olajuwon because i would say hakeem was the best post player ever. followed by kevin mchale and michael jordan. the next category that i am going to take a look it is defense. The one thing that many fans dont know about kareem is, that he was a great defender. When your offensiv weapon is the sky hook, its easy to overlook the other side of the game. But let me hit you up with some facts. Kareem was a 11 time all defensive player, 4 times blk champion. plus in his younger days he also was a pretty good rebounder. so overall kareem was one of the best defenders on his position. hakeem on the other hand was a 9 time all defense player, but 2 x defensive player of the year, 3 blks chmapion, 2x rebound champion. just taking those facts into consideration its easy to say its a tie. but i would still give the nod the hakeem. why? because hakeem is one of a kind with his footwork. in pick and roll situations he was able to cover a guard, a quality that is super rar and so valuable. also he was able to shot good bigs down. Every star big of the 90s, if it was a ewing, a shaq and david robinson, they all had games where hakeem destroyed them defesnivly. so this one goes to hakeem. Team Success Now this category is kind of unfair, but definately one where many of you might disagree with me. But please hear me out. When Kareem played for the lakers he won 5 championships, and he won another one with the milwaukee bucks. What you should not forget though is that he played along said many all stars and hall of famers. if it is magic johnson, james worthy, bob mcadoo, byron scott, jamal wilkes and many more, those teams he played for where automatically a title contender. Hakeem on the other hand playing for the rockets won his 2 championships while playing with Otis thorpe as his second best player who avg 14 points, and in 1994 with an overaged clyde drexler as an 8th seed. so those accomplishments to me are way tougher. and of course kareem had to play against the celtics in the 80s, but i just think that hakeem had not a championship team, and still one 2. thats why this categroy to me is a tie. Overall skillset. This one will be a short one. I talked about that Hakeem had more offensive weapons than Kareem. But when we talk about the overall skillset there is one fed that hakeem accomplished which shows what a great all around player he was. And the last category that I will take a look at is the head to head match ups. Well, I have to be honest, this category is a pretty difficult one because when olajuwon and jabbar played each other, olajuwon was not in his prime yet, and jabbar was heading towards the end of his career. hakeem olajuwon, hakeem olajuwon post, hakeem olajuwon highlights, hakeem olajuwon dream shake, kareem abdul jabbar, hakeem olajuwon houston rockets, kareem abdul jabbar highlights, kareem abdul jabbar skyhook, old school nba vs new school, nba finals game 3, nba, nba open court, nba open court funny moments, los angelos lakers
