My First Blender Render Part 5

Now I think I’m getting into a bit of a weird groove in these upcoming sessions. So I’m starting to lose out on what the end goal is. I think it was the length of the many sessions. Trial and error is being engaged in at this point. 01:04 Creating that light fixture kinda broke me a bit. I was starting the see the limitations of my brute force! Since I don’t do a lot of modeling—and perhaps the added burning on fumes—it still works, however, I noticed I was being lazy. There is that feedback loop that I notice happening. Since this light fixture isn’t very geometric, I kinda had no idea on how to actually make it. I watched a lot of videos of different techniques, but none of them were very vivid and I didn’t want to search things up in the moment. Impatient. That’s what was happening.. that was the limitation I had. find something I don’t know. try to research it. don’t find the answer. Then try to brute force it. Especially for this light fixture. There were a lot of different ways I could model it for cleanliness and shading. However, I didn’t want to bother with it. so rather, I brute forced through it. 08:23 Another big issue I faced was trying to create the object to act as lighting while also being a subject in the scene. the light objects don’t have visuals to them. instead I created a light bulb… and… it’s better explained in the next video because I actually tried to tackle it then rather than this session when I just brushed it off and hid the ball. 15:51 One other of my big pains was lighting. I jumped around trying to fix it and follow render settings to see what could be the issue. but there was nothing really changing and I was running around in circles. There are a lot of long pauses in here where I’m honestly just researching lighting. The biggest pain point in the world. Or at least, in the moment, I thought that it was the lighting settings. Perhaps it was just the fact that my samples were low? I put the viewport samples to 64 and render samples were 128. Which is probably why the images came out alright? I didn’t realize how long it took trying to fix it. and I gotta acknowledge the length I spent or else I’ll always feel like I’m wasting time. 23:55 For the rest of the session, I ended up playing around with finalizing the textures for the walls and other elements in the scene. and then I called it a night.
