Oscar Wilde (Toshiki Tateishi/Yusuke Hirose), a literary maverick, serializes his novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray." The story of Dorian Gray, a young man who sells his soul for beauty and youth, shocks British society with its unconventional themes and content that are out of step with the times. Controversy and criticism continue, and the novel is eventually published with an unintended ending, in which the protagonist, Dorian, meets his untimely death. The person who continues to support Wilde is his friend and supporter, Robert Ross (Fukushi Seiji/Hirama Soichi). Just when the freedom they long for seems thwarted even in the world of art, a young man named Alfred Douglas (Kyo Higashijima/Kohei Fukuyama), who bears a striking resemblance to Dorian Gray, appears.
