The Godavari River, which should be flowing vigorously during this season, is currently running dry across both Godavari districts due to insufficient rainfall. Water levels at the Dhavaleswaram Barrage have dropped significantly, with sandbars emerging across the riverbed. Farmers who should have begun Kharif cultivation are left in a helpless situation, as the main canals show no signs of water, forcing them to delay paddy transplantation.
