They are making a lightweight rally styled model that will be under the 790. At the time they are giving the 790 a new look and some changes to how it feels to ride. This will keep the 790 below the 990 and 1390 Adventures in terms of technology and price. This is a way for KTM to keep its share of the market as it gets bigger.. It also means that the different models might start to seem too similar. For example the 690 Rally is a bike that can turn easily and it is very close, to the new 790 Adventure. The 790 Adventure still does not have all the features of the bikes. We do not know when these bikes will be officially announced. The 690 Rally looks like it is almost ready to be sold so we might hear about it soon. KTM usually shows off its travel enduros just before the riding season starts so we will probably see the 790 Adventure next spring. KTM is trying to do something with the KTM 790 and the KTM 690 Rally and it will be interesting to see how it all works out with the KTM 990 and KTM 1390 Adventures.
