In 2020, Harry Styles became the first masculine-presenting person to be featured on the cover of Vogue in a floor-length gown by Gucci. The Daily Wire and other right wing media outlets subsequently lost their minds, decrying the loss of the "manly man" and blaming feminists and the "woke left" for "feminizing" men. But is the left really to blame for the rise of menswear skirts, or are men just returning to an earlier (pre-19th century) definition and presentation of masculinity?
