Transforming my Defender 110 into the ultimate adventure truck. In this episode I completely strip out the interior and begin one of the biggest upgrades on the entire build. The rear seats, carpets and roof liner all come out as I start modernising the inside of this classic Land Rover Defender. The goal with this build isn’t to turn the Defender into something it’s not… it’s to keep the raw character of the Defender 110 while making it feel more refined, comfortable and capable for long distance adventure trips and overlanding. I start by preparing the roof and floor ready for sound deadening and insulation, removing rusted hardware, cleaning years of dirt from the aluminium body, and sealing holes throughout the seat box section. I then install full coverage Dodo Mat DEADN sound deadening along with foam insulation throughout the cabin to reduce vibration, rattles, road noise and heat transfer. This Defender has always felt raw and agricultural from factory, but with the insulation installed the entire cab already starts to feel more solid and premium. I also begin retrimming the roof liner in suede, completely transforming the look and feel of the interior, while teasing one of the biggest upgrades still to come — a fully digital dashboard conversion. This is only the beginning of the ultimate Defender 110 transformation.
