This is our first time hearing about Falklands War veteran and British Army soldier Simon Weston, his injuries during the Falklands conflict, his survival, and the life he had to rebuild afterward. We found ourselves listening more than talking for a lot of this one. There are some stories where jokes disappear for a while because the reality of what someone lived through is bigger than commentary and Simon Weston’s story felt like one of those moments. His honesty about pain, survival, recovery, mental health struggles, identity, and learning how to keep going after unimaginable trauma was incredibly powerful to hear. …and this video genuinely taught us something important.
