An Introduction to Stream-of-Consciousness Writing
An Introduction to Stream-of-Consciousness Writing In this lecture, I explain the terms expressive writing and stream-of-consciousness writing. Beginning with a brief description of James W. Pennebaker’s research at the University of Texas at Austin, we move into a discussion of stream-of-consciousness as used in regard to literature, psychology, and finally writing. The latter half of the video explains strategies from Natalie Goldberg’s “Writing Down the Bones” in the actual practice of stream-of-consciousness journal writing. #writing #journaling #literature #Alabama #psychology #Freud #college #art #university #lecture #Kerouac #creativity * * * * * * Links to other online resources: Natalie Goldberg - https://nataliegoldberg.com Natalie Goldberg is the author of over a dozen books including “Writing Down the Bones” – one the most important books ever published about writing and creativity.
