The Honda Civic Type R, number FD2, was launched in 2007. In the same year, a European version of the Civic Type R, numbered FN2, was also launched. Until production was discontinued in 2010, the Civic Type R FD2 (another common name is FD2 type R) only produced more than 10,000 units.
