We know, the weights of all parts of a body directed towards the center of the earth as a parallel force, magnitude is equal to their algebraic sum of all these forces. Thus, centre of gravity of the body may be defined as the point through which the whole weight (Resultant) of a body may be assumed to act. It is denoted by c.g(G). The centroid or centre of area is defined as the point where the whole area of the figure is assumed to be concentrated. Or it is stable assumed center point of the plane area
