Roossenekal! Ep 719

The gravel road from Tonteldoos to Roossenekal turned out to be a pleasant drive, not nearly as bad as we expected. And, truth be told, these are exactly the kinds of roads we love! 😄 Arriving in this small town, you can sense its history straight away… traces of a once-thriving place. We made a point of seeking out the places that were still in a fair condition. The memorial of the soldiers who died in 1883 was a poignant reminder of the suffering of war and the Roossenekal Primary School looked absolutely fantastic, full of promise. You can’t help but hope that brighter days lie ahead for this town, that it finds its way back to the prosperity it once knew.
