2006/07 West Ham 3 Spurs 4 - Paul Stalteri injury time winner!

Even without our Spurs tinted glasses on, the match at Upton Park on 4th March 2007 was easily the match of the season, in a derby day cracker. It wasn't looking too bright for Spurs at half time, 2-0 down to a 16th minute Mark Noble goal and a Carlos Tevez free kick from just outside the box a few minutes before half time. Six minutes into the the second half, a calmly struck penalty from Jermaine Defoe halved the deficit. Less than 10 minutes later, a Teemu Tainio volley (thanks to an inventive back-heeled volley pass from Aaron Lennon) brought us level. The game then flowed until the 85th minute, when ex-Spurs striker, Bobby Zamora came on as sub and within minutes looked to have snatched all 3 points for the Irons. However, the Hammers fans were celebrating too early even in the 90th minute. Still 3-2, cue Dimitar Berbatov. A free kick, in similar position to that of Tevez in the first half - exactly the same result - Goal, 3-3 - a point rescued for the boys?  No, 94th minute, Spurs turn a West Ham attack into their own counter-attack with 3 or 4 Spurs players running the length of the pitch and bearing down on the solitary defender. Defoe shot, parried by Hammers goalie into the path of the onrushing Paul Stalteri ! GOOOOOAL 4-3 Spurs and wild celebrations in the away end. Why do things easy, when you can do things the Spurs way ! #COYS
