The revival of the Blue Spot marks the end of a 56 year wait since the last recorded bottling of the old Blue Spot in 1964. Building on the bourbon and sherry maturation the new Blue Spot Cask Strength Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is matured in bourbon and sherry casks and also contains whiskey aged in Madiera casks, made in a cooperage in the north of Portugal and then sent to the island of Madeira. Bottled at cask strength, so that the ABV will change from batch to batch.
