This video is focused on Western francophobia, comments feeling clever censoring "French" or bashing the country for no apparent reason, as well as the widespread of myths about France and the French. In the 20th century, Francophilia was common and very abruptly transformed into the opposite. We're exploring how and why that happened. This video is NOT about anti-French sentiments in former French colonies, and/or countries that are still negatively impacted by their history with France. This video's purpose is not to pretend that France is a perfect country, or to pretend France has never had any negative effect on anyone ever, although in all its vices, France is certainly far more than its colonial empire, having had a rich history of contributions to the world before, during, and after, and to define France as nothing besides its colonial history would be as unreasonable as pretending that Germany today is the same thing it was in the mid 20th century.
