Short answer — Does it sound exactly like someone else's song? Every artist who ever lived has been inspired from other people's music. Technology using publicly available work to inspire new generations is no different. If what you make - the product - is original and has never existed before, it's yours. Plain and simple. The skill barrier that kept most people out of music is falling, and that means anyone can finally tell their story. People who are into music production for the music's sake are fine.
