If this is a possibility, please take extra care by spreading newspaper and wearing a mask before working. If silicone gets on the floor, lather up some mild dishwashing detergent with a sponge or cloth and wipe it off by scrubbing. If it doesn't come off in one go, try applying it two or three times. ★Stay Safe★ A viewer advised me that if silicone gets on the wall around the door, it may make it difficult to paint the wall. If you're planning on painting your walls soon, I recommend masking the area or spreading the product around the door with a cloth instead of spraying it. ★Thank you, viewer★ I used silicone spray to clean up my 18-year-old front door, which had become white and sooty. It was surprisingly easy and surprisingly inexpensive, and it cleaned up beautifully. It's not a remodel or renovation; all you have to do is spray it on and spread it out, so I'd love for everyone to try it. Rather than painting it, it seems like it can get sticky if you don't spread it thinly. If it does get sticky, I think a light wash with mild detergent will restore it to a good coating. Based on our results over the past year, we believe this is within acceptable limits. However, we recommend testing a small amount in an inconspicuous area to see how it affects your skin before deciding whether to apply it to the entire surface.
