Valletta, MALTA - Walking The City And Fort St Elmo (The ‘Midnight Express’ Film Location)

We take the ferry from Sliema over to Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Valletta was founded in the 1500s by the Knights of St. John and is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Walking through the city streets complete with their Maltese balconies and ornate door knockers. As well as some grand baroque style churches and buildings. From the Upper Barrakka Gardens, we watch the noonday gun before heading to Fort St Elmo which is now the National War Museum. For all fans of the film Midnight Express, Fort St Elmo was used as the location of the Turkish prison where the American Billy Hayes was held prisoner. We take a look at the fort but unfortunately, the main location of Midnight Express was the lower fort courtyard which is not accessible although you can clearly see it from the ramparts. We would definitely recommend Valletta as a city break destination and it’s only a 3-hour flight from the UK. #Valletta #FilmLocation ‘Valletta, Malta - Walking The City And A Visit To Fort St Elmo’ - Filmed November 2019 MORE TRAVEL & DRIVING VIDEOS & PLAYLISTS 🎥 Ryanair To #Malta :    • We Try A RYANAIR Flight - Cardiff Airport ...   🎥 Visiting Europe Videos :    • Visiting Europe Travel Videos   MERCH 👕 FlyDriveExplore MERCH “Yes, We are tourists T-Shirts”: https://teespring.com/stores/fly-driv...
