Dougie Martin – Rock N’ Soul of Dundee – 2018 new edition
Dougie Martin was the Rock N’ Roll Soul legend of Dundee in Scotland. He sadly died in 2012 at the age of 70. Dougie was in his first band in 1956 and continued playing in many bands, including his final band ‘Mafia’, till his later years. He played with the supporting band on stage with the Beatles when they visited Dundee. Through the years he met many of the greatest musicians and influenced many local musicians including Alan Corrie of the Average White Band, Gary Clark, singer-songwriter with the band Danny Wilson (hit song Mary’s Prayer), and Michael Marra, a leading Scottish songwriter - singer who is also sadly no longer with us. Back in 1994 we filmed (see end credits), with his band ‘Mafia’, this 28 minute Biopic video of Dougie Martin which has contributions from Alan Gorrie, Gary Clark, and Michael Marra. - Dougie Martin lives on. Duration: 28 minutes 42 seconds.
