Claude Fable 5 arrived today with a big promise: it's a Mythos class model released for general use, with 80% accuracy in agentic code tasks and benchmarks above all competitors. But does it deliver in practice? I tested it with the same pinball prompt that no other model could pass, compared it to the Mini Max M2.7 running locally, and discussed whether the price of $50 for 1 million output tokens makes any sense outside of very specific use cases.
