COMMUNITY – Week Six brings the regenerating arc to a close by turning our attention to the living networks that make regeneration possible in the first place. With clarity, warmth, and momentum, Maarten Klop reminds us that soil can be healed — but not without people coming back into relationship with one another. Maarten’s work doesn’t begin with theory. It begins with action: young people harvesting pears, cooking together, dancing, planting, organizing kitchens, festivals, and food systems rooted in place. Again and again, the pattern is the same — inspire, activate, co-create. Community is not something you wait for; it is something you practice. When people are invited into meaningful work with low barriers to entry, ownership follows naturally. Belonging grows from participation. What makes this approach regenerative is its humility. Rather than building new institutions from the top down, Maarten shows how to reveal and connect what is already alive beneath the surface — the human equivalent of mycelium. Farmers, students, artists, elders, organizers, neighbors: each brings something essential, and each is also supported by the whole.
